As usual, not much crafting going on here. I have been working on the knitting, but since I’m getting close to a happy dance* on that, I’m not going to show it to you today.
As for my sewing machine, the most action it’s seen lately is a quick bit of repair work on some cloth nappies (actually, not so quick, and man oh man is that Bum Genius elastic dodgy – if anyone plans to buy any, check whether they’ve changed the elastic since I bought ours – which were version 2.0, I think. If you have no idea what I’m on about, ignore!) Oh, and I also whipped out the machine to run up a quick wheat bag – thanks to a blocked milk duct (ow ow ow ow ow) the other day. Thirty-three months of breastfeeding, and this is the first one I’ve ever had (total for 3 kids, not all at once!). Here’s hoping for no repeats.
But! While I didn’t get up to much creative today, I did find myself with two sleeping children. Amazing! I baked blueberry muffins to celebrate (had been planning to do this with Niamh, but I do prefer to bake alone anyway)… then parked my bum on the beanbag for a little while to enjoy the silence and a few new books I’ve picked up lately.
And now they’re both awake, and one is drooling on my laptop (like the poor computer doesn’t have enough problems!), and school pickup is imminent! Cruise on over to Kirsty’s for some more spaces ๐
*Happy dance = finished project. I think this one might belong to the cross-stitchers, yes? Or is it an all round crafty term? Anyway… now you know!
I cant wait to see that knitting. Its getting a bit addictive in our house as well. Oooh and muffins YUMMMMEEE
Ahhh muffins. That is my kind of creative space ๐
looking forward to seeing the finale… love the look of your books too. Come on over the woollywotnots bookclub to share.. ๐
Glad you got a bit of down time in the beanbag today. Looking forward to the happy dance.
The books look as delicious as the muffin! Good luck with the milk duct – my husband is a gardener and has loads of cabbages at the moment – I was looking at them thinking about days gone by and how I insisted on having them in the fridge after the birth of my first baby. If I have a third, I think the wheat bag will be more pleasant!!!
ER, don’t suppose a Hot Frog is quite the glamour solution you’re after for an ouchy milk duct? Seriously, after thirty three combined breatsfeeding months, that is no justice!
I can’t believe that’s happened after 33 months of toil! It’s supposed to get easier, isn’t it? Hope it’s all over now. I love sleeping children… glad you had a good day ๐ K
mmmmm muffins
Always a good option.
Ouch, I only experienced that pain during my first run of BF’ing many many years ago, Hope it’s back up and running soon…And whoohoo for sleeping babies. My little one took a 3 hr nap today. Gotta Love it!!!!
now I wish I would have made some muffins those look YUMMY
Sleeping children…. That sounds so nice. I decidedly did NOT experience that today. ๐
Sleeping children, muffins and craft books. Perfect!
I think planning is definately the best creative space, and we can include that in bean bag magazine flipping – that’s my story anyway and I am sticking to it.
Sounds like a lovely way to spend your time. One can’t be creative without relaxation and inspiration (and a muffin!)
