Vechicles on the Yea road near Kinglake came to grief during the firestorm.

The devastation of yesterdays South Gippsland fires, cattle in a burnt out paddock in Warragul.

Destroyed vineyards in the Yarra Valley after fire ripped through.

CFA firefighters work on spot fires in the Yarra Valley after fires swept through.

A fire-fighting helicopter approaches an out of control fire in the Bunyip State Park.
I feel like the soul is being ripped out of our state. Some of the fires have been not quite far enough from home for comfort, but far enough that I cannot begin to understand the devastating losses suffered by so many.
Oh my goodness. I’ve heard nothing about this, at all. I’m glad you are all safe. It brings back memories from a couple of years ago, when my dad (in Southern California) was evacuated for terrible wildfires – they spent about a week waiting and praying that the winds would just stop.
Keep things updated, so we know you’re alright.
This is such a terrible tragedy. My thoughts are with all of you. Stay safe!
Hi, I am hoping to start up a craft auction of handmade items with all proceeds going to the Red Cross, or charity of your choice to help with the bush fire appeals. I would love any help you can provide with promotion, donation or bidding. More info here http://bugandpop.blogspot.com/2009/02/can-it-make-difference.html
It is so horrible.
I hope your friends and family are safe.
My thoughts are with you all – this is a tragedy almost beyond words. Take care.
I had heard of the brushfires, mostly because I have a lot of Aussie friends and I try to keep up a little bit. But I had not seen pictures (nor had I looked for them). I am not exaggerating when I say that when I pulled up your blog I just burst into tears. My thoughts are with you, and I hope and pray for a swift recovery.
